At Bridge Point, our volunteers are the backbone of our ministry.  We wouldn't be able to accomplish all that we have without them.  When you become a Bridge Point volunteer, you are joining a family of individuals who have a heart for giving back to our community and helping others.   Our volunteer opportunities range from weekly or monthly in or Thrift Store or Hope Resource Center or just for special events such as Christmas Mart or Community Events. Whether you want to be the face of Bridge Point and interact with clients or stay in the background and help sort donations, we have a spot for you!  Complete the volunteer signup form and we will contact you to see where would be the perfect fit for you!

Volunteers are a vital part of Bridge Point and the communities we serve.  God has given each of us unique gifts and abilities, and there are many different ways to serve. Choose which ministry you'd like to serve with below and we'll be in touch with you.
LEARNING CENTERS & EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES
We offer free homework and reading assistance to K-12 students.  The days and times listed below are the blocks of time.  Students schedule appointments within those times.   Dates are for last September through April.
We also like to offer workshops and support groups for teens, young adult and others to help them learn life-enhancing skills.  

THRIFT STORE
Our Thrift Store is open to the public, as well as the families we serve.  Funds generated from the donations for items are used to purchase and supply other resources to individuals and families in need.  Any shift times listed can be scheduled to fit your schedule.  One time a week, one time a month or every week are all options.

NOT SURE WHERE YOU FIT?
No worries!  We meet with everyone interested in serving and show you around.  Our goal is to see everyone serving and doing things they enjoy and are passionate about!  We want our team members to WANT to come in, not have to come to serve!

The Bill Mittas Servanthood Award

Bill Mittas was a valued member of the Canton Local community and serving others was an important part of his life and legacy.  He was a member of the Canton South Rotary, Stark County Bar Association, Ohio Bar Association and formerly served on the board of Bridge Point Community Services. He was not only a big supporter of Bridge Point and our mission but also contributed greatly to the vision and growth of our organization before his passing.

In an effort to continue his commitment to serving others, Bridge Point honors individuals (youth and/or adult) that display a passion for community service and helping others. Each year, we recognize these individuals at our annual "A Night of Sharing Hope" event as the recipients of The Bill Mittas Servanthood Award. This year's event will be held on October 25, 2025 at Spring Valley Golf Course.
